Sportsnet Can’t Miss Events This Week includes a Full Night Of Home Team Hockey with Four NHL Games Tuesday
- Senators, Maple Leafs, Flames and Canucks all in action on Tuesday -
- Friday Night Hockey features two CHL games: Guelph vs. London and Regina vs. Calgary-
- Six weekend matches from the Barclays Premier League -
TORONTO (Dec. 12, 2011) – Sportsnet showcases a full slate of hockey this week with four NHL games on Tuesday and two CHL games on Friday as part of the Can’t Miss Events on Sportsnet.
NHL
The Ottawa Senators take on division rivals the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 6:30 p.m. (ET) on Sportsnet East. Dean Brown will have the play-by-play while NHL hall-of-famer Denis Potvin provides the analysis. Ian Mendes will be the host.
The Toronto Maple Leafs will be in action on Sportsnet Ontario with a home date versus the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 6:30 p.m. (ET). Joe Bowen handles the play-by-play with former NHL goaltender Greg Millen as analyst and Paul Hendrick as host.
The Calgary Flames head to the country music capital of North America to battle the Nashville Predators on Tuesday, December 13 at 5:30 p.m. (MT) on Sportsnet West. The broadcast will feature Rob Kerr with the play-by-play alongside former NHLer Charlie Simmer as the analyst and Roger Millions as host.
The Vancouver Canucks finish off Sportsnet’s NHL broadcast schedule with a road game versus the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 3:30 p.m. (PT) on Sportsnet Pacific. The broadcast features play-by-play announcer John Shorthouse alongside former Canucks goalie John Garrett as the analyst. Dan Murphy is the host.
Hockey Central analysts Nick Kypreos, Doug MacLean and host Daren Millard will preview the Leafs, Senators and Canucks match-ups and provide analysis throughout each broadcast, including the intermissions and immediately following the game. Host Jeff Marek with analysts Brad May and former NHL coach Mike Keenan will appear on the pre-game show for the Flames broadcast.

Friday Night Hockey - CHL
The No.1 seed London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League kick off a Friday Night Hockey doubleheader when they entertain the Guelph Storm on Friday, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. (ET)/4 p.m. (PT) on Sportsnet ONE, Sportsnet Ontario and Sportsnet Pacific.
Rob Faulds will handle the play-by-play with former NHL defenceman Jason York as analyst. Ben Ennis is host.
The second half of the doubleheader features a Western Hockey League battle between the Regina Pats and the Calgary Hitmen on Friday, Dec. 16 at 10 p.m. (ET)/7 p.m. (PT) on Sportsnet ONE, Sportsnet West and Sportsnet Pacific.
The broadcast team includes RJ Broadhead with the play-by-play, Sam Cosentino as the analyst and host Tara Slone.
HOCKEY CENTRAL host Daren Millard and analyst Damien Cox will be in studio to preview both of Friday's games.
On sportsnet.ca, columnist Patrick King will take a deeper look each week at the Ontario Hockey League, Western Hockey League and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Cosentino will also appear on the website with a weekly blog and discuss CHL news on Skype chats with fans.
On radio, Sportsnet 590 The FAN and Sportsnet 960 The FAN will provide regular updates on game results and stats.
Barclays Premier League
Fifth-place Chelsea highlight Sportsnet’s weekend Barclays Premier League schedule with a date versus Wigan on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 12 p.m. (ET)/9 a.m. (PT) on Sportsnet East, Sportsnet Ontario, Sportsnet West and Sportsnet Pacific.
Gerry Dobson and Craig Forrest host Soccer Central on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 2:30 p.m. (ET)/11:30 a.m. (PT) on Sportsnet East, Ontario, West and Pacific, focusing on all the weekend’s action from around the league.
