Sportsnet Draws Biggest Canucks Audience in Network History
- Saturday’s Vancouver vs. Boston game on Sportsnet Pacific records network’s highest Canucks audience ever with 746,900 (2+) viewers -
TORONTO (January 9, 2012) – Sportsnet scored its biggest ratings ever for a Vancouver Canucks game as an average of 746,900 (2+)* viewers tuned in Saturday morning at 10 a.m. PT to watch the Canucks secure a 4-3 win over the Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins.
Audience levels during Saturday’s Sportsnet Pacific broadcast peaked at 1.1 million as viewers witnessed the dying moments of the third period when the Canucks killed off a last minute Bruins power play.
The 746,900 audience was a 20 per cent increase over the previous audience average high of 624,900 viewers during a 4-3 Canucks shootout victory over the Dallas Stars on October 11, 2009 - in prime time at 7 p.m. PT. The record audience is also 66 per cent above the current season average of 449,000.
