In an interview with Jim Bowden on SiriusXM radio this past weekend, David Price’s agent, Bo McKinnis, said the star pitcher would have “absolutely gone back,” to the Blue Jays, had his client been offered a contract.
The 30-year-old signed a seven-year, $217 million deal with the Boston Red Sox on Dec. 1, putting an abrupt end to the notion of him re-signing with the Jays…or so many thought.
News of the signing had already hurt Jays fans in two ways: Not only were they losing their ace of 2.5 months, but they were also losing him to a division rival, where he could conceivably hurt Toronto for the next seven years. Further rubbing salt in this still fresh wound was finding out the Jays could have had him for the right price.
With this saga going at least one more round, Tim and Sid wanted to check on the collective mental stability of the Jays’ fan base by posing the Match Game One-Up Challenge of, “The David Price saga makes me feel like ______.”
