VANCOUVER -- B.C. soccer fans will finally get their chance to see David Beckham and the Los Angeles Galaxy when they play the Vancouver Whitecaps Nov. 7 at B.C. Place Stadium.

The exhibition game was originally scheduled for Oct. 3 but had to be rescheduled after Beckham sprained his right knee in the SuperLiga final against Pachuca of Mexico on Aug. 29. Over 40,000 tickets had been sold for the first match.

"We are ecstatic to be able to confirm a date and move ahead with hosting a spectacular event," Bob Lenarduzzi, the Vancouver Whitecaps president, said in a release.

The Galaxy failed to qualify for the Major League Soccer playoffs but closed out the regular season with five wins, one loss and two ties.

Beckham signed a five-year, US$10-million contract with the Galaxy but his first year with the Galaxy was disrupted by ankle and knee injuries which limited the midfielder to a handful of games.
