I know, I know.

Many of you are wondering why it took so long to get the Brazil-Canada match on television. I know it’s frustrating. But I also know these things are never easy when the sports calendar is already so full to begin with, and when many rights deals are done for most properties well in advance.

The problem with airing international friendlies is that they become available after our programming schedule has already been filled out. We've known for months that we would be carrying a Blue Jays game from the west coast on the evening of May 31st.

Fortunately we've found a way to get this match on Sunday morning at 10 a.m. local time on all Sportsnet channels.

It’s a great kick start to a very busy month of June for soccer on Sportsnet. Euro 2008 starts next weekend and with our partners at TSN, every match will be televised live.

After a preview show on Thursday, Sportsnet's coverage kicks off with a pair of Group B matches on Day 2 of the tournament, June 8. Austria faces Croatia, while Germany meets Poland.

Make note of a couple of other days in June. On June 14th, we'll have the Greece-Russia match in the afternoon and the Toronto FC match against Colorado at BMO Field in the evening.

June 20th is a big day as well. We'll have a pair of Euro quarterfinal matches as well as Canada's home leg against St. Vincent and the Grenadines from Montreal in the first round of World Cup Qualifying.

There is no television coverage of the first leg in St. Vincent.

And then in between the Euro semi-finals and the final, we also have TFC at New England on June 28.

It might be the busiest month of soccer ever at Sportsnet.

Let the games begin!
