It’s amazing how things can come into focus much more clearly after just one match.

Germany were favourites heading into Sunday's match and they still are -- perhaps even more so after a convincing performance against Poland. Croatia was the solid second choice in Group B, and although they also won, I have nagging doubts about who will join Germany in the knockout stage.

It may seem strange to say, but it feels as though the chances for both Austria and Poland have improved even though they both lost. Don't get me wrong, it will still be an uphill battle. But Austria looked much stronger than the 100-1 longshot that they are and Poland looked not bad at all in losing to the juggernaut from Germany.
