So now that all 16 teams have fired their opening salvos at Euro 2008, it’s time to revise the predictions.
Actually only half the teams have fired any sort of salvo as the other half have yet to score a goal. In any event, no revision required. At least not as far as the finalists are concerned. In my opinion, which is shared by many of you, Germany and Spain are still the best bets to make it to the championship match. Spain confirmed their status after tossing aside Russia Tuesday afternoon -- although they were a little leaky in defence from time to time. But the jostling in behind the group favourites is well underway.
Sweden looks good in Group D, while Russia and Greece do not. In Group C ... well ... who knows?
