Toronto FC midfielder Carl Robinson sprained an ankle at training on Tuesday and is expected to miss a significant amount of time.
Robinson, who did not play in Saturday's scoreless draw with Seattle, was scheduled to return to the lineup this Saturday for an important match on the road in Colorado.
Robinson broke the news of his injury on the social networking sire, Twitter.
'Rolled my ankle in training today. Sprained my ligaments!!! Gutted.'
Robinson was voted player of the year for the Reds in 2008. Gambian teenager Amadou Sanyang filled in for Robinson in Seattle and will likely be coach Chris Cummins first choice in Colorado.
