FRANKFURT, Germany -- Bayern Munich extended its winning streak to eight games with a dominating 3-1 victory at Wolfsburg on Saturday to draw level on points with Bundesliga leader Bayer Leverkusen, which was held to a 1-1 draw at Bochum.

Bayern outclassed defending champion Wolfsburg, with Arjen Robben and Daniel van Buyten scoring in the first 26 minutes before Andrea Barzagli struck an own goal in the second half.

Wolfsburg striker Grafite then had his penalty saved by Bayern goalkeeper Jorg Butt in the 66th, as Wolfsburg extended its streak without a win to nine games.

Grafite did score a consolation goal in the final minute for Wolfsburg, but couldn't prevent Bayern from climbing to 45 points from 21 rounds, level with Leverkusen atop the league but two goals behind on goal difference.

Despite the scoreline, Bayern coach Louis van Gaal wasn't happy with the performance.

"We did not play good football today. We played arrogant and single-mindedly," said Van Gaal, whose team is unbeaten in 14 matches. "We have to remain concentrated and not just play arrogantly after pulling ahead 2-0."

Robben agreed that the team could play better, but said that shouldn't detract from the result.

"They had a lot of chances, and we had some lapses in concentration," he said. "But when you win 3-1 in Wolfsburg, that's a good performance."

Leverkusen took the lead through Eren Derdiyok just before the break, but Zlatko Dedic equalized for Bochum with 22 minutes left.

"We knew they would be tough," Leverkusen coach Jupp Heynckes said. "So it's not a surprise we faced a determined and compact team here in Bochum."

Schalke twice struck the goalframe -- with the ball shown to have clearly crossed the line in one instance -- but was held to a 0-0 draw at Freiburg. The result left Schalke coach Felix Magath renewing calls for video replays to determine whether a goal should be awarded.

"It's the old story about FIFA or UEFA or whoever not wanting to use the technology that we have," Magath said. "We should use a chip in the ball or a camera at the goal or whatever. It's a waste when you think about how much money is involved in this sport."

Also Saturday, Hamburg game up a two-goal lead in the final 15 minutes to draw 3-3 at Cologne, missing a chance to take over fourth place.

Ruud van Nistelrooy came on as a substitute with two minutes left to make his debut for Hamburg, which got two goals from Mladen Petric.

Hoffenheim scored its first goals of 2010 and gained its first points in winning 2-1 at home over Hannover for 28 points in seventh place.

Stuttgart is just one place behind also on 28 points after beating Nuremberg 2-1 on the road to extend its winning streak to five games and its unbeaten streak to seven matches.

Nuremberg, which allowed Roberto Hilbert to score in the 87th minute, missed a chance to leave the relegation zone and has just 16 points.
