Debt-ridden Mallorca has signed Canadian-born midfielder Jonathan De Guzman on a free transfer from Dutch club Feyenoord.
De Guzman, who became a Dutch citizen in 2008, agreed to a three-year deal with the Spanish club.
De Guzman spent five seasons at Feyenoord where he scored 23 goals in 109 appearances.
De Guzman's brother Julian -- a Canadian international with Toronto FC -- played four seasons at Deportivo La Coruna.
Mallorca is currently appealing UEFA's decision to exclude it from this season's Europa League despite its fifth-place finish last year. Mallorca has reported debts of 60 million euros (C$80.4 million).
