Canada's Christine Sinclair was named the tournament's Best Player.

Canada's women's soccer team was a runner-up at the Four Nations but had an adventure coming back home.

Great result by Canada finishing second to the U.S. at the Four Nations tournament in China. Next up is the Cyprus Cup in March. More top quality games as part of their preparation for the World Cup in June and July. Let's hope their trip back to Canada goes more smoothly than their latest adventure.

Here's what happened.

The players were booked on different flights depending on their destination back in North America. The members of the team who were booked on a direct flight from Beijing to Toronto had the problem.

The previous flight from Toronto to China was delayed and as a result, due to restriction on how many hours pilots can fly without rest the flight got caught in a forced delay of 24 hours. On top of that they eventually got re-routed to Vancouver before heading on to Toronto.

But consider this. Their original location for the tournament in China was Chongqing. So right off the bat they had a two-plus-hour flight from there to Beijing. Then the delayed flight from Bejing to Vancouver.

From there it was the nearly five-hour flight to Toronto. On top of that, a few of them were connecting to Ottawa.

Four flights in all, arriving around 8 a.m. Thursday morning, a full 24 hours late. Have a good sleep.
