NEW YORK -- Toronto native Dwayne De Rosario has joined David Beckham and Thierry Henry on Major League Soccer's Best XI team.
It's the sixth time the D.C United attacking midfielder has made the league's Best XI.
For Beckham, it's the first such honour since arriving in MLS in 2007.
De Rosario is joined on the first team by Brad Davis of the Houston Dynamo and Brek Shea of FC Dallas, his competitors for the league's MVP award.
The Los Angeles Galaxy lead the way with four selections to the team, including U.S. captain Landon Donovan, Omar Gonzalez and Todd Dunivant.
Seattle's Kasey Keller, in his final season before retirement, was the top goalkeeper. Others picked were Real Salt Lake defender Jamison Olave and San Jose forward Chris Wondolowski.
In the final season of a US$32.5 million, five-year contract, Beckham set his MLS highs in starts (26) and assists (15) as the Galaxy finished with the league's best regular-season record.
Donovan, meanwhile, was selected for the fourth straight time and fifth overall after scoring a team-high 12 goals for the Galaxy. Gonzalez made the list for the second consecutive year.
