CREMONA, Italy -- Former Atalanta captain Cristiano Doni is set to be questioned by a state prosecutor over his part in the match-fixing scandal which stunned Italy last year.
Doni will meet with Roberto di Martino on Wednesday after being among 16 people arrested across Italy in an ongoing investigation into match-fixing and illegal betting on games.
Doni reportedly admitted helping to fix Serie B matches involving his team last season at his initial hearing last month.
Last August, Doni was banned from football for 3 1/2 years and Atalanta -- which was promoted to Serie A for this season -- was given a six-point penalty.
