BARCELONA, Spain -- Barcelona says it has reached a tentative agreement to transfer Brazilian defender Maxwell to French club Paris Saint-Germain.
The European champions said late Wednesday that Maxwell was heading to the French capital to "iron out the final details of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain."
The club has not released any financial details on the deal.
Maxwell joined Barcelona from Inter Milan in the summer of 2009. The 30-year-old left back won 10 trophies in his stint with Barcelona under coach Pep Guardiola, including one Champions League and two Spanish league titles.
He played a total of 89 games for the Catalan club, scoring two goals.
