HARRISON, N.J. -- The New York Red Bulls have signed 26-year-old Swedish defender Markus Holgersson.
Holgersson spent the last three seasons with Helsingborg in Sweden, scoring five goals in 80 appearances. He was selected for Sweden's national team for the first time this month.
The agreement was announced Thursday.
