BARCELONA, Spain -- Espanyol says goalkeeper Carlos Kameni has joined Spanish rival Malaga on a free transfer.
Espanyol says on its website the Cameroon international joins the Andalucian club for 2 1/2 seasons.
The 27-year-old Kameni played 7 1/2 seasons for Espanyol, but did not make an appearance this season, instead serving as a backup to Argentine goalkeeper Cristian Alvarez.
Kameni allowed 291 goals in 222 Spanish league games, and helped the team win the 2006 Copa del Rey.
