ROME -- Inter Milan's Serie A match at Roma on Saturday was postponed to Sunday due to a rare snowstorm in the capital.

It began snowing in Rome near midday Friday and the cobblestone streets were covered with slush, prompting the local police chief to postpone the match by 24 hours.

The games will now be played at 3 p.m. (1400 GMT) Sunday.

Saturday's other match, Cesena vs. Catania, was also postponed, with 60 centimetres (two feet) of snow having fallen at the Dino Manuzzi Stadium.

There have now been six games postponed this week due to the ongoing snowstorm in central and northern Italy.

The Parma-Juventus match was cancelled on Tuesday. The other matches cancelled were: Atalanta vs. Genoa; Bologna vs. Fiorentina; and Siena vs. Catania, all on Wednesday

Also, AC Milan's match against Napoli at the San Siro on Sunday has been moved from an 8:45 p.m. start to 3 p.m. to avoid icy conditions at night.

One match that was played amid the snow, Inter vs. Palermo on Wednesday, finished in a 4-4 draw.

The Atalanta-Genoa and Parma-Juventus matches have been rescheduled for Feb. 15, Bologna-Fiorentina will now be played Feb. 21 and Siena-Catania has been slated for Feb. 22.

No new date has been announced for Cesena-Catania.
