Sevilla considering Michel

SEVILLE, Spain -- Sevilla says it is negotiating with Jose Miguel "Michel" Gonzalez to take over as coach from the fired Marcelino Garcia Toral.
The Spanish club says on its website that Michel, a former Real Madrid and Spain player, is in line to coach Sevilla until the end of the season.
Michel has been without a coaching job since leaving Getafe at the end of last season.
Marcelino was fired earlier Monday, one day after Sevilla lost 2-1 to Villarreal for its seventh straight match without a win. The team is in 11th place, six points away from a Champions League spot.
Marcelino is the eighth Spanish league coach fired this season.
