FLORENCE, Italy — Juventus striker Sebastian Giovinco has dropped out of Italy’s squad for its friendly against the Netherlands on Wednesday due to a thigh injury.
Giovinco reported for duty at Italy’s training camp on Monday for medical tests but was then allowed to leave.
The 26-year-old forward injured his right thigh during Juventus’ 2-1 win at Chievo Verona on Sunday.
Italy coach Cesare Prandelli has said he will not call up a replacement.
