4 teams fined by UEFA for crowd misbehaviour

NYON, Switzerland – Galatasaray, FC Basel, Feyenoord and Standard Liege have been fined by UEFA for crowd misbehaviour during games in the Champions League and the Europa League.

Turkish team Galatasaray was fined 50,000 euros ($80,000) after its fans set off or threw fireworks and missiles during a Champions League match at Arsenal on Oct. 1.

Basel was fined 40,000 euros ($65,000) after supporters of the Swiss team threw objects onto the field during a Champions League match against Liverpool on the same night.

Feyenoord was fined 15,000 euros ($24,000) and Standard 17,000 euros ($27,000) for crowd disturbances, including both sets of fans setting off fireworks, during their Europa League match on Oct. 2.

The fines were announced on Monday.
