MUNICH, Germany — Bayern Munich has signed Germany under-19 attacking player Sinan Kurt from Bundesliga rival Borussia Moenchengladbach.
Bayern says on its website that the 18-year-old Kurt has agreed a four-year deal with the club. It adds the player “can play in various positions up front”.
Kurt’s transfer had been the subject of dispute between the sides, with Borussia unwilling to sell and the player wanting to move.
Kurt had a contract to 2016 with Borussia, though both the player and Bayern reportedly claimed it was only valid to 2015 due to a three-year limit on youth contracts.
News agency dpa says agreement was reached with Bayern paying 1.1 million euros ($1.4 million) up front, with more payments to follow depending on the player’s performances.
