MUNICH — Bayern Munich posted a German record turnover of 528.7 million euros ($657.5 million) and profit after tax of 16.5 million euros ($20.5 million) for the 2013-14 fiscal year.
Club finance director Jan-Christian Dreesen says turnover increased by 22 per cent from the previous year’s 432.8 million euros ($538.6 million), when Jupp Heynckes led to the side to the treble.
Heynckes’ successor, Pep Guardiola, helped Bayern win the domestic double and reach the Champions League semifinals last season.
Operating profit rose to 98.7 million euros ($122.8 million), up from 95.6 million ($118.9 million), with profit after tax up 2.5 million euros ((euro)3.1 million) compared to the season before.
Dreesen told the club’s annual general meeting on Friday that the financial results are "better than any the club has ever had before."
