Bayern’s Boateng faces ‘lengthy’ injury spell

Bayern Munich has confirmed that defender Jerome Boateng faces a “lengthy spell” on the sidelines after suffering a groin injury on Friday against Hamburg.

Boateng was forced to exit the game in the 56th minute and was replaced by Javi Martinez. Bayern won the match 2-1.

The German international has made 27 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga champions this season.
