MUNICH — Bayern Munich says winger Franck Ribery’s ankle injury has failed to respond to conservative treatment and that his right foot has been immobilized.
The Bundesliga champions declined to reveal other details about the injury or further treatment, and did not give any estimate for the Frenchman’s return.
Ribery has not played since injuring the ankle in March in the Champions League match against Shakhtar Donetsk.
The 32-year-old winger told Bild newspaper on Wednesday that he could not say whether he would be ready for the July 1 start of Bayern’s preparations for the new season.
