ZURICH — FIFA President Sepp Blatter has warned the English of the legal consequences of their demands for the World Cup corruption report to be published.
The conduct of England’s failed 2018 bid was criticized in judge Joachim Eckert’s summary of the full report.
Blatter wrote on Wednesday to FA chairman Greg Dyke to say "publication of the report might be permissible if the persons or entities included in the report consent to such publication, and waive any legal action they might be entitled to bring."
Blatter asks if Monday’s letter from Dyke can be interpreted as "providing consent" on behalf of anyone affected by the sections relating to England’s bid, and "as a corresponding waiver of any legal action in the event of such publication."
Blatter filed a criminal complaint in Switzerland this week against unnamed individuals linked to the report.
