DORTMUND, Germany — Borussia Dortmund says it has signed defensive midfielder Sebastian Rode from Bundesliga rival Bayern Munich.

Rode signed a four-year contract. No financial details were given.

Rode played for Eintracht Frankfurt before moving to Bayern in 2014

He is the fourth player to sign for Dortmund since the end of the season, in which Dortmund finished second to Bayern.

Defender Marc Bartra became a Dortmund player over the weekend, and young talents Ousmane Dembele and Mikel Merino were brought in.

However, defender Mats Hummels left for Bayern, and midfielder Ilkay Gundogan is moving to Manchester City.
