BLACKBURN, England — Canadian international defender Doneil Henry has rejoined Blackburn Rovers on loan from West Ham United.

The 22-year-old from Brampton, Ont., is on loan to the second-tier Championship side until Jan. 3.

Henry, a former Toronto FC player, made his debut for Rovers last March in a separate loan spell. He performed well but was sidelined by a serious hamstring injury two matches later.

"I’m delighted to be able to bring Doneil back," Blackburn manager Paul Lambert said on the club website. "I know that he did very well last time he was here, prior to his injury. We felt that it was important to add an extra body to the defensive department and Doneil was the obvious choice."

Henry, who has won 14 caps for Canada, signed with Premier League side West Ham last January.

Blackburn currently stands 13th in the Championship with a 4-5-8 record.
