BORDEAUX, France — French club Bordeaux says defender Mathieu Debuchy won’t be able to play with France at the European Championship after injuring his right thigh.

Bordeaux coach Ulrich Rame says Debuchy hurt himself in Wednesday’s 1-1 draw against Paris Saint-Germain in the French league and will be sidelined for several weeks.

Asked if Debuchy will be missing Euro 2016, Rame says "unfortunately. It was a bad evening for us."

Debuchy, who is on loan from Arsenal, has made 27 appearances for France and was hoping to get selected as a right back substitute.
