It wasn’t long after Spain defeated Italy in Sunday’s Euro 2012 final that the question was asked.
Is this Spanish side the greatest national team of all time?
There’s a case to be made after La Roja became the first team to repeat as European champions and the first to win three major tournaments in a row (Euro 2008, 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012)?
But have they done enough to surpass Brazil (three World Cups from 1958 to 1970)? Are they better than West Germany, who won the 1972 European championship and 1974 World Cup?
Are they equal to the magical Netherlands team of the 1970s that revolutionized the game with Total Football? What about the legendary Hungary outfit of the 1950s, considered by many the greatest team never to win the World Cup?
We want to know what you think: is this Spain side the greatest national team in soccer history?
