TORONTO — Former Toronto FC defender Bradley Orr has retired.

The 32-year-old Liverpool native made the announcement via Twitter on Monday after Blackburn Rovers said the player was leaving the second-tier Championship League club by mutual agreement.

"As of now I am retired from football," Orr said. "I’ve loved every minute of my career and I’ve got no regrets whatsoever only great memories. Thank you!"

Orr, who also played midfield, joined Toronto on loan from Blackburn in January 2014. He made 19 appearances including 14 starts for the MLS club last season, scoring his lone goal in stoppage time to lift Toronto into a 2-2 tie with Sporting Kansas City in May.

Orr also played for Newcastle United, Burnley, Bristol City, Queens Park Rangers, Ipswich Town and Blackpool.
