Hamburger SV says midfielder Lewis Holtby has broken his collarbone and will be out of action for about 10 weeks.

Holtby was injured during a friendly against Bundesliga rival Eintracht Frankfurt in Abu Dhabi, where both teams are preparing for the second half of the season.

Holtby came on as a substitute at the start of the second half and left the match shortly before the end. Hamburg won the game 3-2.

The Bundesliga season resumes Jan. 30.
