NEW YORK — Houston defender Bobby Boswell’s suspension has been doubled to two games by the MLS disciplinary committee.

Boswell was given a red card for a head butt against New England’s Dimitry Imbongo in the 39th minute on Saturday, resulting in an automatic one-game ban. In addition to increasing the length of the suspension Wednesday, citing violent conduct, the disciplinary committee also fined Boswell.

He will miss Sunday’s game at Kansas City and a June 1 match at the Columbus Crew.
