John Oliver gets his wish after Blatter resigns

Soccer Central host James Sharman joins Brady and Walker to talk about Sepp Blatter resigning as FIFA president and what it means going forward.

John Oliver now has a trip to McDonald’s in his future.

The host of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver went on an epic rant during Sunday night’s show, calling for major FIFA sponsors to pull their support for corrupt commissioner Sepp Blatter, who resigned from his post on Tuesday.

Oliver went as far as saying that he would be eat any item from McDonald’s Dollar Menu or would even drink a “disgusting” Bud Light Lime in order for his goal to be accomplished.

“I’ll do anything,” Oliver said Sunday night. “I’ll wear your ugly shoes, Adidas. McDonald’s, I will take a bite out of every item on your Dollar Menu, which tastes like normal food that was cursed by vindictive wizards.

“I will even make the ultimate sacrifice,” said Oliver. “Budweiser, if you pull your support and help get rid of Blatter, I will put my mouth where my mouth is and I will personally drink one of your disgusting items. I will even drink a Bud Light Lime, despite the fact that all the lime in the world couldn’t disguise the fact that this tastes like a puddle beneath a Long John Silver’s dumpster. But I will do it and say it was delicious. If you get rid of the man who ruined the sport I love, this stuff will taste like (expletive) champagne.”

After the news of Blatter’s resignation broke, many on social media were quick to thank Oliver or remind him of what he promised to do.
