BARCELONA, Spain — Bojan Krkic could play a part in new coach Luis Enrique’s Barcelona squad after the forward joined the Spanish league club’s preseason training on Monday.

Barcelona loaned Krkic out to Dutch champions Ajax last season after the 23-year-old striker failed to make an impact at his boyhood club or during spells with AC Milan and AS Roma in Italy.

Krkic was among several new additions at Barcelona on Monday as Gerard Deulofeu, Rafinha, and goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen also underwent medicals at the club’s Joan Gamper training facility.

Enrique takes charge of the squad on Tuesday when the team begins training for the 2014/15 season, when the Catalans will look to rebound from a first season in six without a major trophy.
