Kroenke says Arsenal not for sale after Usmanov bid

James Sharman, Danny Dichio and Craig Forrest talk about the wonderful story lines surrounding Chelsea hoisting the Premier League trophy, and the hard work by Liverpool to knock Arsenal out of the all-important 4th place spot.

LONDON — Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke says he has no interest in selling the Premier League club.

The statement from the American sports tycoon comes after The Associated Press reported on Friday that minority Arsenal shareholder Alisher Usmanov offered a $1.3 billion takeover bid.

Kroenke’s company said Monday that "its shares are not, and never have been, for sale," adding that it "is a committed, long term investor in Arsenal and will remain so."

There were chants against Kroenke during Arsenal’s game against Everton on Sunday as the team failed to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in 20 years.
