ROME — Italy winger Antonio Candreva has extended his contract with Lazio for one more season, keeping him at the team through 2018-19.
Candreva, a member of Italy’s World Cup squad, made the announcement to a Lazio radio station Tuesday.
The 27-year-old Candreva did not reveal details, but the Gazzetta dello Sport reports the deal includes a raise from 1.2 million euros ($1.5 million) to about 2 million euros ($2.6 million) per season.
Candreva says "if I think back to 2 1/2 years ago I would never have thought I would reach this point. It seemed as if I had bought houses in every city."
Until settling with his hometown club in January 2012, Candreva played for Livorno, Juventus, Parma and Cesena in a series of loan deals while under contract with Udinese.
