MEXICO CITY — Mexico and the Netherlands will play a friendly in November, less than five months after the teams met in the second round of the World Cup in Brazil.

The Mexican football federation said Wednesday the match will be played Nov. 12 in Amsterdam.

It will be the eighth game between the nations, and first since the Dutch won 2-1 at the World Cup.

Mexico will also play a friendly at Belarus six days later in its final match of 2014. El Tri hadn’t played a friendly in Europe since 2010, when it faced Italy in Belgium ahead of the World Cup in South Africa.

The Mexicans have two friendlies scheduled for next month — against Chile on Sept. 5 in San Francisco and against Bolivia on Sept. 9 in Denver.
