Miazga fined by Vitesse after grabbing opponent’s genitals

American defender Matt Miazga has been fined by the Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem for unprofessional behaviour after grabbing the genitals of Heerenveen’s Denzel Dumfries during a Dutch league game on Jan. 20.

Miazga, a 22-year-old from Clifton, New Jersey, is in his second season with Vitesse on loan from England’s Chelsea. He has made four appearances with the U.S. national team.

The incident occurred during a clash in front of the goal.

Vitesse forward Tim Matav was given a four-game suspension by the governing body of Dutch soccer on Wednesday for elbowing Dumfries during the match. Matav also was fined by Vitesse.

The team announced the fines on Wednesday.
