ROME — Crisis-hit Parma has been docked another four points in the Serie A standings for its financial failures.

The Italian football federation made the announcement Thursday.

Parma was already in last place but is now 11 points from safety.

The club was previously penalized three points this season for missed wages.

Without the penalties, Parma would have a legitimate chance at avoiding relegation, which now seems certain.

Last month, Parma was declared bankrupt with debts of more than 200 million euros ($220 million).

Also Thursday, former Parma owner Giampietro Manenti and ex-sporting director Pietro Leonardi were each handed six-month bans from football.

Parma’s players have still not been paid all season, but the team managed to beat Serie A leader Juventus 1-0 on Saturday.
