Real Madrid, Nacho reach four-year extension

MADRID, Spain — Real Madrid has extended defender Nacho Fernandez’s contract for four more years.

The 23-year-old Nacho joined Madrid’s training academy in 2001 and debuted for its first team in April 2011.

He played nine Spanish league games for Madrid last season and made his first appearance in the Champions League in a 4-0 win over Dutch club Ajax.
