ROME — Roma goalkeeper Morgan de Sanctis has signed a one-year extension to his contract, tying the 37-year-old veteran to the Serie A club until 2016.
De Sanctis’ contract was set to expire in June 2015, but Roma said Thursday it has signed another deal with the former Italy goalkeeper.
De Sanctis has been a key member of Roma’s team since joining from Napoli in 2013 for a fee of 500,000 euros (then $662,000) and helped the club finish second in Serie A last season.
He made six appearances for Italy before retiring from international football on his 36th birthday in March 2013.
