ROME — The key Serie A derby match between Roma and Lazio has been postponed a day due to the Italian Cup final.

The match was originally scheduled to take place on Sunday afternoon but Lazio had requested it be pushed back after the cup final against Juventus was hastily rearranged for Wednesday following Juve’s progression to the Champions League final.

The Italian league announced on Monday that the game will now take kick off at 6 p.m. local time (1600 GMT) on May 25.

The match is a direct battle for second place and straight entry into the Champions League group stage.

Roma, which had been against the change of date, is currently second, a point above Lazio, with two rounds remaining.
