PRAGUE, Czech Republic — Captain Tomas Rosicky has returned to the Czech Republic’s team for this month’s World Cup qualifying games against Denmark and Armenia.
The Arsenal midfielder sustained an Achilles tendon injury at the European Championship last year and has not played a qualifying game for the Czech Republic since.
Czech Republic coach Michal Bilek said Tuesday that Rosicky “is fully fit” to join the squad for the March 22 game against Denmark in the Czech city of Olomouc and four days later in Armenia.
The Czechs are third in Group B with five points from three matches. Italy leads the group with 10 points from four matches.
Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech and striker Matej Vydra, who scored 20 goals for Watford this season, are also included in the 22-man squad.
