The good times keep on rolling for Toronto FC.

After a magical post-season run that saw TFC finish just short of winning the MLS Cup a season ago, the club currently boasts the best record in the league. That on-field success has translated into serious prosperity as TFC ranks as MLS’s third-most valuable team in the latest Forbes report. The team is valued at $280 million, well above the league average of $223 million.

Toronto recently completed stadium renovations to expand capacity and is showing how significant player investments – the club’s $16.5 million in total designated player salary is tops among MLS teams this year – can pay off.

The LA Galaxy and reigning MLS Cup-champion Seattle Sounders ranked first and second, respectively, while New York City FC and Orlando City SC round out the top five.

Toronto looks to continue its quest for a championship when it takes on the third place Chicago Fire in a crucial matchup at Toyota Park on Saturday.
