Toronto FC full-back Justin Morrow came second in voting for the MLS Defender of the Year award, missing out to Sporting Kansas City’s Ike Opara for the individual honour.

Morrow received 13.82 per cent of the vote compared to Opara’s 28.53 per cent. Vancouver Whitecaps centre-back Kendall Waston was third with 11.81 per cent.
TFC still has a chance to bring home an individual award. Greg Vanney is nominated for Coach of the Year, while Sebastian Giovinco is an MVP finalist for the second time in three years.
