Toronto FC is going to wait until all its players are in camp before confirming who will serve as team captain this season.
That means a decision is not expected until Feb. 9 when Michael Bradley and Jozy Altidore return from U.S. national team duty.
"It’s not just me announcing, ‘This is the guy,’ it’s a team thing," head coach Greg Vanney said Friday. "There’s a lot of things that are in consideration. And I think it’s a respect thing amongst the group, that everybody’s a part of that.

"I would say by the time we get back from Florida, we’ll start settling in some of those bigger-picture items like that."
The team returns from Orlando on Feb. 9 for a week in Toronto before flying south again, this time to Bradenton, Fla., on Feb. 16.
There is a good chance the decision has already been made with all signs pointing to the team taking the armband from incumbent Steven Caldwell and giving it to Bradley, who was skipper when Caldwell was unavailable last season.
Tim Leiweke, president and CEO of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, has said Bradley was consulted about the club’s major off-season moves. Caldwell was not.
The 34-year-old Scot has made no secret that he wants to remain captain. But ownership has signalled that this is Bradley’s team.
