Twitter reaction: British media rips team after shocking loss

With England’s loss to Iceland causing Roy Hodgson to resign, James Sharman breaks down what went wrong for the team in an embarrassing loss to a great Iceland team.

England’s soccer misery continued Monday with a 2-1 loss to Iceland, and the British media aren’t about to let the team, or country, forget it.

Following England’s shocking loss in the knockout round of the European Championship, the British media was quick to jump on the team’s disappointing finish, and the results were decidedly cheeky.

England has not advanced past the quarter-finals at a European Championship since 1996.
