NYON, Switzerland — UEFA has lifted a partial stadium closure against Paris Saint-Germain which would have applied when it hosts Barcelona in the Champions League.
UEFA says its appeals body partially upheld PSG’s challenge against sanctions for "discriminatory conduct" by fans toward disabled supporters of Chelsea at a quarterfinal match last season.
UEFA had ordered the French champion in July to close two sections of Parc des Princes at its next home Champions League match.
Barcelona visits Paris on Sept. 30.
Instead, UEFA fined PSG 50,000 euros ($64,800).
PSG is also ordered to make changes at its stadium "in order that people with reduced mobility are better protected," UEFA says.
