MANCHESTER, England — West Ham midfielder Ravel Morrison will remain in custody until a hearing next week after being charged with punching and slapping two women.
The 21-year-old former Manchester United player appeared in court on Thursday charged with assault. He allegedly attacked a woman outside a bar in Manchester and assaulted the same 19-year-old and a 39-year-old woman later on Sunday morning.
Appearing in Manchester Magistrates’ Court, Morrison spoke only to confirm his name. He did not enter a plea.
District Judge James Prowse refused a bail application and ordered Morrison kept in custody until a hearing next Thursday.
