LONDON — West Ham says it has signed Senegal international midfielder Cheikou Kouyate from Belgian champion Anderlecht on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
The 24-year-old Kouyate says on West Ham’s website, “I am very happy, because today West Ham has given me the chance to play in the Premier League.”
Kouyate played in the Champions League and Europa League with Anderlecht, and represented Senegal at the 2012 London Olympics.
He is West Ham’s second off-season signing, following Argentine striker Mauro Zarate.
